Best places to watch planes at Birmingham Airport
For most visitors there are two sensible public starting points: Birmingham Airport's official Car Park 5 viewing area and Sheldon Country Park at the northern end of the airfield.
Car Park 5
24-hour dedicated viewing area with picnic benches and close-proximity parking. Normal airport parking charges apply.

Car Park 5 is the simplest choice if you want an airport-provided viewing facility and easy access by car. Sheldon Country Park is attractive if you want a free outdoor location and aircraft are operating in a direction that suits the Runway 15 end.
There are other enthusiast-known viewpoints around the airport, but access, parking and sightlines can change. For this guide we prioritise locations supported by the airport or local authority rather than encouraging access to marginal, residential or security-sensitive areas.
