Why spotters use Sheldon Country Park
Birmingham City Council says the park has a runway viewing point for aircraft enthusiasts just under a mile from the farm buildings, accessible on foot only. Birmingham Airport recommends Sheldon Country Park as an alternative viewing location when aircraft are using Runway 15.
The park itself is free and open all year. Facilities near the main entrance include parking, toilets, a playground and the demonstration farm, although the aircraft viewing point is a walk away from those facilities.
